In her later films she minimized the deadpan schtick - having babies is what
did her career in. But, as all her films were made for MGM, it was
unforgivable that she wasn't so much as mentioned in any of the THAT'S
ENTERTAINMENT movies.

Unfortunately she was a one-trick pony. Her voice was mediocre once you
seperated it from her dead-pan schtick.
It caused a sensation with audiences that were accustomed to all canaries
showing their toothsome all.
When the novelty wore off, so did she.
