There is some useful info on early Chinese Victors, recd in USA & China, in
Sherman-Nauck's Victor Guide, p.207-209, with many label ill.
Here it is reported that 10" 1-sided Cantonese, recd in USA, includes :
1769-1789, renumbered 7180-7200 Mme. Chalia & S.H.Dudley.
This mx series would date from 1902-1903.

The blue 42000 series label with 4-line patents in Chinese (blue for Cantonese)
is dated ca. 1909-13.
I have numerous images of this series, and the 4-line labels are the earliest.
The next type (not ill. in Sherman-Nauck) is a 3-line patents label, with the patents
legend in English, and stating Victor Talking Machine Co. Like the previous one,
it has the name Victor shown on Nipper's grammophone.
Next type in the series is batwing label.
Other label colors indicate different dialects (e.g., Amoy white).

>>> I have recently acquired 10", Blue label, Vi 42106. The Encyclopedic
Discography of Victor Records at Santa Barbara has no info. All the
lettering including the copyright data, except for "Chinese Cantonese" &
"Song with accompaniment", is in Cantonese.
The numbers int the runouts are 7199 (1788) and 7200 (1789).
When and where was this recorded and who is the artist?
