[78-L] Roots of Rock n Roll (was: Back Beat Boogie)

1930s western swing used a distinctive back beat, which its musicians told me came directly from dixieland, or New Orleans jazz. You can hear it in Lu Watters' 1941 recordings, which were based on record by King Oliver.
