I just came across this same exact record last month in a large collection of jazz and blues records.  I had yet to check on it until this post.

The label is listed in Gart's ARLD.  H.N. Society and Hargail Records had the same address.  Billboard shows this through January 1948 in their listing of Record Labels and Manufacturers.  By 1950 only Hargail Records is listed.  The only two records I can find for H.N. Society that are listed are HN-101 and 102, both listed in the advance record releases in the August 4, 1945 issue.

I even found an ad in the June 1945 Popular Mechanics for Hargail at the same address selling a plastic English flute, touting "Make your own music."  Then one in August 1945 for a music writers fountain pen.

interesting label - I don't know anything about it -
a search of Gramophone Shop ency and supplements does not show H N Society or HN society.

I notice that it is produced by HARGAIL - there was a music publisher
HARGAIL MUSIC PRESS, 28 West 38th St., New York, N.Y.10018
which had many song folios of recorder music, folk music and early music.

Don't know if it is the same company that produced this record ??????????

found the following:
Harold Newman, Gail Kubik founded HARGAIL MUSIC 1940
see collection at NY Public Libary
In 1940 Newman
befriended the American composer Gail Kubik, and commissioned the first American composition for recorder – Suite
for Three Recorders. In order to make this piece available, Newman formed a publishing firm named after himself and Kubik –
Hargail Recorder Music Publishers. He also established a record label called Hargail Records to distribute recordings of the
recorder, as well as other contemporary American music. During the 1950s his interests expanded to include folk music, as he saw
the opportunity to publish music for recorder and guitar, and to help make the recorder part of the American cultural pattern

Best wishes, Thomas.

I'm seeking information about a recording of the Guarnieiri Quartet on an H-N-SOCIETY-RECORDS label 78 rpm record (HN101).  I've
posted a few pics online and just about all my queries refer me to those pages.  Not a whole lot of info available for this
label.  You can view and listen here:

I'm thinking it could be a jazz subscription service or something??  Is there some place I can find out more about this?

Thanks!  CDB
