Victor Set E-53 "Classical Gems" (25637/42)
Victor Concert Orchestra under the direction of Frank Black
Arranged by Bruno Reibold
I have 25639 (E 53-5/6) and 25640 (E 53-7/8):
25639-A BOURRÉE (From the Second Violin Sonata)
25639-B ENTRANCE AND MARCH OF PEERS--Part 1 (From "Iolanthe")
25640-A 1. ENTRANCE AND MARCH OF PEERS--concl. (From "Iolanthe")
2. DANCE OF THE APPRENTICES (From "Die Meistersinger")
(Act 3)
25640-B 1. MARCH CLASSIQUE (From Concerto For Piano)
2. DANCE OF THE MOORISH SLAVES (From "Aïda") (Act 2)
From the 1940-41 Victor catalog, I find the other selections, but
with no key to the catalog numbers:
MARCHE HONGROISE (From "Damnation of Faust")
DREAM PANTOMIME (From "Hansel and Gretel")
TRIUMPHAL MARCH (From Sigurd Jorsalfar)
(These should be on 25637 and 25638. Two tunes might be on one side,
or the second one might be split across two sides as was done on
25639-B/25640-A.)
(This alignment seems likely:)
25641-A SALUT D'AMOUR (Love's Greeting)
25641-B PROCESSION OF THE SARDAR (From "Caucasian Sketches")
25642-A SONG OF INDIA (From "Sadko")
25642-B SWEDISH (Brollops) MARCH
Take care,
Joe
