[78-L] Russian LP question

Rimsky Korsakov's A MAY NIGHT with Lemeshev..said to have been recorded in 1948 
on a couple of sites. The lp issue in the USSR is D 0592-7, which should be 
about 1952, reissued as Melodiya D 05404-9 which would be 1959. Can anyone 
confirm the 1948 recording date? The sound (on the 1959 issue) is just too good 
for 1948 tapes, but I've been surprised before. (I don't have the 1953 Vanguard 
issue for comparison.)
