Well, dollar-per-inch, this might be close at $4305 for a 5-inch
Berliner, but really it is not even close. Last year John Tefteller was
bragging about paying something like $10,500 for a record. But I recall
there have been 78s at over $12,000. Come to think about it, there was
that copy of Stormy Weather that Kurt Nauck auctioned off a couple of
years ago that created some problems with eboy. I think it finally was
able to be sold for $22,000.
