Is it possible that the coating is water soluble? A test in the run out
area is always a good idea.

Okay, gang, I was kidding about the steel wool..thought that would have been
obvious but you can't be too careful. Unless the lacquer has begun to peel
away
from the disc, you should be safe with something like Dawn, and a quick
rinse
and dry..
