I purchased an Operatic 78 with an interesting sleeve. It's by Catalan
baritone Ramon Blanchard, with Verdian arias (Eri Tu/Pari Siamo. Matrixes
30431 and 30450, rec. 1910 per the Columbia Matrix book, which does not
mention this specific coupling, catalogue n. D 16299, maybe it was European
only? One side is on You Tube, loaded by an Italian, with reference to
master and catalogue numbers. The label features a Columbia gramphone-shaped
logo under the "Double-face". I cannot find an exact equivalent online.
Label on request. On the sleeve there's a printed fram where a photoof the
performer is pasted, and a line for the stamped catalogue number; it
advertises La Cigale and Columbia together.
Any help to find a possible year of production?
thanks
fm
