[78-L] Most disgusting place in your record searches

All the talk about records being stored in garages reminds me of a
search years ago. In response to a local newspaper ad I ran about
wanting records I got a call from a lady who said she had been
widowed years earlier and had removed her husband's records to the
"building out back." Said she had crates and crates of old LPs etc
she's put out there years earlier. As it was early on a Saturday
morning I told her I'd be right over.

When I arrived, the woman led me out back...not to a garage but to a
chicken coop. She said the birds had died off some time back and just
a bunch of neighborhood cats were the current occupants. "You're the
first person who's been here in years," she smiled.
My heart sank as I pulled open the coop door and beheld (and smelled)
the result of years of chicken and cat droppings all over open
overturned, disintegrating cartons of records that had apparently
been subjected to windblown rain as well.

Well, did I immediately turn around and make a hasty exit?............
Hell no, I had no shame...I'm a record collector and you never know.
Spent the next four hours there in Poopy Palace treading very
carefully, Even bought a few decent items which cleaned up very
nicely, Had to toss out my clothes later, though.

Anyone beat that?
