Dear members,

While searching the web, I found two really astonishing samples of sound that are so well recorded (near to impossible).

Any hint how did they do them?

1) 1890s Berliner 5 inch record #532, La rondinella.

You can listen to sample here:

Now, that's fine sample of recorded voice. Very nice rounded bottom, enough high register... it sounds like electrical recording!

2) Cselényi József - Gyöngyvirágtól illatozik

Cselenyi died in 1949. and at that time he almost stopped performing, so this recording is probably from 1940s. So well performed, and acoustic balance is perfect. At the end of recording you can hear some strange short noises (sounds like pedal work made by some of these performers). Anyway, it is great sounding side. Is it broadcasted?

Do you have your own preferences regarding this theme?

Thanks,

Milan
