Well, William Powell _couldn't_ speak fluent Yiddish, yet he does a creditable job with a short piece of Yiddish dialogue in "Lawyer Man".
Notice that "Taxi" and "Lawyer Man" are both from Warner Bros., the most "populist" of the early 30s major studios. PC
