Allright. I didn't stop and count to 10 before this response so just
FORGIVE ME! I realize they're going for the mass market....BUT....
45 rpm vinyl? Don't any of the original 78 metals exist?? Take a lesson
from HISTORIC MASTERS. Now that'd be worth the price instead of 45 rpm
versions of the same old 3rd generation (OK, they might not be working from
successive generations) digitally hacked up crap we've been subjected to in
the last two incarnations. Did they resolve the pitch problems on this
one???
Just venting. I don't expect answers.
Martin

- At $349 it's pretty pricey, but they've found some ways to enhance the
- same ol' 29 tracks.
-
- I can understand including songs by Furry Lewis, Tommy Johnson, and
- others in the set, but to add totally unrelated hillbilly and Mexican
- items just because they were recorded at the same location and session
- is a bit of a stretch. "Gasp! Do you think they breathed the same air
- as Johnson??? Oooh! we HAVE to have that!" Fortunately, the tracks by
- the Light Crust Doughboys, Crystal Springs Ramblers, etc. aren't too
- bad. But I doubt any blues aficionado will want to sit through
- recordings by Zeke Williams & his Rambling Cowboys. I like 'em, but not
- everyone will. Very strange.
