[78-L] Avshalomov concerto

Who was he?I'm not at all familiar with him.I got out my 1935 Groves Musical 
Dictionary of Music and Musicians but he was not listed.I have a much later 
edition of the Groves,but it's 

back in Lometa,Texas in storage.I read where his dates were 1894-1965.What 
school of com-
position was he from?

Interestingly, Columbia set 286 - Avshalomov Concerto - is not mentioned at all 
in the W.E.R.M encyclopaedia...
While researching my Col. Masterworks discography, I have not found one mention 
of this set in all the documents I have read.

My contact in Yale Uni has noted that they do not have a copy of this set.
The Library of Congress has 1 copy of the recording in 78rpm format.
