Poley was a mainstay of the Waring group for years...I've seen a picture of 
him performing with Waring on TV in the 50s.

I think he was doing  "Popeye" before there was a Popeye!

The Waring Victor of "I've Got Some Lovin' To Do" is one of his best 
vocals...he also played drums with the band.
