The most recent issue of VJM has a nice tribute to Brian Rust, along
with a fascinating, extensive article by Nick Dellow and Albert Haim on
Jean Goldkette's post-Bix recordings.

================
The obit states that Brian was a conscientious objector during WW2, but
I have a dim recollection of him writing that he picked up a copy of a
Hersal Thomas Parlophone in the street market in Farringdon Road,
central London, when he was on leave in 1944. Coincidentally, the market
was opposite William Rust House, home of the "Daily Worker".
