I didn't go too far afield...I ended up working for my alma mater (Cornell), first in various roles at the Graduate School (admissions, institutional reporting, IT), then on the undergrad admissions side in an IT support role.  If my finances permit it, I'd like to retire (or at least downshift) in a few years and devote more time to records and vintage music :-)
