[78-L] 14" Pathe

Well into 1926, Pathe was recording its originals on oversized CYLINDERS and
pantographically dubbing these. Sometimes everything fitted into one disc and
sometimes it didn't. Ward Marston transferred some "complete" operas from Pathe
discs and found more on the larger discs than on the smaller ones. I've had
some Actuelles which sound like dubs from the hill-and-dale issues, and some
where you get about 1/8 of a turn before the music starts in the outer groove.
Not to mention all the thumps and bumps from mechanical equipment and people
walking around in the studio.
