The actual number of known episodes exceeds 1,000. The transcriptions were pressed 1929-1933. Episodes 1 through 672 are recorded in 2 parts. Part 1 is on one disc and part 2 is on a second disc. Side 2 of the discs contain a 2nd pt. 1 and pt. 2 episode. The earliest known episode is episode 19, pt. 2, Matrix MI-195. This was recorded by MacGregor and Ingram and pressed by Columbia. The early episodes use a MI prefix. The prefix changes to MC-....... somewhere in the late 100's or early 200's. The earliest documented example is episode 223, pt. 2, Matrix, MC-223-2. Audio files of earlier episodes exist but the matrix number information was not documented. Beginning with episode 673 all transcriptions are recorded at 33 1/3 RPM and are played from the inside out. The earlier 2 part transcriptions are played from the outside in. Beginning with episode 661 label credit goes to MacGregor and Sollie.

Several large groups of discs were discovered 2 or 3 years ago by a couple of researchers in the Old Time Radio community and they made a nice presentation last year at one of the OTR conventions. It is a series I had long wanted to hear because I had written about it in my dissertation but no recordings were available. I just counted up the number of episodes that are posted on the Old Time Radio Researchers Group website. As usual they didn't give us the matrix numbers but I know where I can probably get them except for the three episodes that they don't have any ID for. There are large gaps of course, considering there were well over 1400 episodes. Their earliest is 63 and their latest is 1376.
