I have been into what would now be called "antique radio" for about 50 years.I
had a

nice Sparton I bought from a woman I had worked with at General Telephone for
$30
back in the mid '80s.It was from 1936 and was a table top model.I know Sparks
Wit-
thington was located in Jackson,Michigan.

Same Company. From the Encyclopedia of Music in Canada:

Sparton of Canada, Ltd. Record manufacturing company established in 1930 in
London, Ont, by a US company, Sparks-Worthington. Sparton of Canada
manufactured radios, phonographs, and household appliances and was the Canadian
presser and distributor 1939-54 for Columbia records and thereafter, until
1969, for ABC-Paramount, Disneyland, Hifirecord, and its own Sparton label. It
was the first company in Canada to press stereo recordings. Besides many
records from the Sparton (USA) catalogue, the company issued 78s, singles
(45s), or LPs by Ward Allen, Paul Anka, Joyce Hahn, Cliff McKay, Jimmy Namaro,
the fiddler Bob Scott, Don and Priscilla Wright, and other Canadians.

Dates not perfect but so it goes..the record division shut down suddenly in the
summer of 1968. I remember, because we stopped receiving new releases on
Command and other labels that should have been automatic.
