More or less...! "Sparton" radios were produced and sold in the US by the
SPARks-WithingTON Company, well into the thirties. They set up a
Canadian subsidiary...which substantially outlasted its US parent...and
became a major record firm up here. The company produced Columbia
records in Canada, assigning them C-* catalog numbers (many of which
were Okeh issues!) into the late fifties. Thereafter, Canadian Columbias
were pressed (usually using their US numbers) by Quality Records.
Meanwhile, Sparton(C) pressed copies of various "indie" US labels,
most notably ABC-Paramount.
