[78-L] Gene Autry question

If the piece was recorded in Los Angeles, most likely Local 47 would have records as to what musicians were used in the orchestra. Bond and Cotner were part of Autry's regular band, so Columbia probably augmented them with studio musicians. Unless Bear Family, who had access to the Columbia files, took down those kinds of meticulous session details, you might have to retrace his steps. No Autry discography that I've seen has ever been that complete. Rhino's box set on Autry, which is where the tune is included, has virtually nothing relating to personnel (pretty slipshod if you ask me). They loaded up the booklet with testimonials as to how wonderful and influential Autry was, plus notes by Douglas P. Green, but nothing in addition to recording dates was listed.
