Well, Benny was pretty close: Edmundo's father was of Scottish origin.
And his one time pianist, Roberto Ingles, who later made a big career in
South America, was, in fact, a pure Scotsman.
It's Louis Armstrong who was Irish:

but the biggest change that's come in Ireland
