No, they didn't -- but that number series (more accurately, Y-MM-##  
starting November 1935) went on into 1938 before Melotone, Perfect  
and the remaining dime-store labels were dropped, leaving Brunswick,  
Columbia and Vocalion to soldier on with their own catalog numbers  
(and Columbia barely a shell of its former prominence). The highest  
US Melotone number in the "Abrams files" is 8-05-01.
