[78-L] Esquire's Hot Jazz Award Winners album Distribution question

Greetings.  I was asked how Esquire's All American 1946 Hot Jazz Award Winners record albums were distributed.  Were they available in stores like other 78s or only through subscription to Esquire magazine, or both? 

My first inclination was to say they were sold as regular records in the usual outlets, but I don't really know for sure.
