According to Billboard - 2 December 1957 -- Capitol bought Angel from 
EMI at that time (early 1957)

It also looks like in May of 1957 they still were two separate 
companies -- albeit closely tied

But it does look like Glen Wallichs, Cap president was put on the 
board of EMI in 1955
