The "notes" label was the first one used on Columbia "Double Disc"
records from late 1908 onward. In early 1916, the "bar-less" labels
replaced this (the familiar "bar" label, but with "Columbia" across
the top third in caps where the "bar" would shortly appear?) These
were quickly replaced by the "bar" label c. 2040?!
