I've got the Columbia book open and it looks as if numbers were assigned in
sequence regardless of where they were recorded at this time, with some
exceptions such as Atlanta block below.
151763/6: Clyde McCoy, Chicago, Sept. 2/31
151854/7: Anson Weeks, San Francisco, Oct. 13/31
151885/6: Louis Armstrong, Chicago, Nov. 4 & 3/31, dubbed from OKeh masters
151900/152030: Various artists, Atlanta, Oct. 22-Nov. 3/31
(this block comes between NY masters 151899 and 152031, New York, Dec/31)
Skipping ahead..
152345/50, Art Kassel, Chicago, Jan. 10 & 13/33 (NY masters surround this)
152366/69, Mark Fisher, Chicago, Feb. 2 & 24/33
152382/5, Phil Harris, Hollywood, March 3/33
152412/9, Mississippi Sheiks, Chicago, June 20/33
152439/152462: Charles Agnew, Clyde McCoy, Charley Kaley, Paul Ash, Ted Lewis,
Jack Teagarden, Ben Bernie..Chicago, July 25-29/33, Bernie sides Aug. 21
152475/152480: Ben Bernie, Clyde McCoy..Aug. 21-22/33 (so obviously the Ben
Bernie sides in the previous numbering system were remakes)
152502/5: Ben Bernie, Sept. 19 & 26/30
152512/152520: Ben Bernie, Bernie Cummins, Luther Higginbotham, Chicago Sept.
26 & Oct. 3/33
152529/152537: Bernie Cummins, Memphis Minnie, Oct. 27 & Nov. 27/33
152605/152622: Lady Vine, Henry Busse, Earl Burtnett, Arthur Tracy (for English
Decca), Hal Kemp (transferred to Brunswick), April 16-July 10/34
152623/26, Anson Weeks, Los Angeles
And that's as far as it goes in the Columbia books.
