I checked the year 1917 on this site. They say that ODJB's first 
recording was Darktown Strutter's Ball on Columbia, supposedly 
released on March 5. Actually, OBJB's first record was Livery Stable 
Blues/Dixie Jass Band One-Step on Victor, recorded on Feb. 26, 1917. 
The Columbia recording was made on May 17 of that year. It used to be 
a common belief that the Columbia recording was made first but 
released later, but that's not true.
