Since you have the set, does the Aleichem record in it have both stories
and the comments after?

The Victor project shows the purple label issue as released 1/17 and
deleted 1/20. But there might be another reason for the deletion.

I'm also ordering the set.

I have the record, but I understand it differently. It would take a
while for me to dig it out to confirm it, but I think my version is
doubled. But it is also dubbed (there is an S/8 mark) and shortened.
My copy is definitely NOT a purple label issue.

Here is the page for the test matrix in the Victor Project.
http://victor.library.ucsb.edu/index.php/matrix/detail/1000001265/Trial_1915-09-07-04-If_I_were_Rothschild

It shows it as being issued on a 10-inch 60144.

But notice that on the master's page there also is an "additional
title" mentioned: A Joyous Holiday. My understanding is that he did two
stories, then came the question and answer about if he had any more. I
have heard that there was an issue that included both stories and the
comments, but then the two stories were dubbed separately onto 10-inch
masters and issued separately in a black label series with un-related
reverse sides. That is the version of the Rothschild story I have.

Sherry -- Since I haven't seen the discographical notes in the set, I
don't know what is stated, but since you have access to the actual disc,
can you tell us if there is a dubbing mark on it -- an S/8 at the 9
o'clock position.
