[78-L] post war labels

I am under the impression that Musicraft did purchase the Guild masters.
Musicraft became part of a conglomerate of labels including Discovery, Progressive etc.
All now owned by ???? (cant remember now - one of the major groups) - I'll have to check.....

If someone in the NY ARSC group has the time and know-how, it would be interesting to
dig out the COURT records concerning the disposition of MUSICRAFT assets following their
bankruptcy.
Allegro issued some masters in the 50's(Leadbelly for example, under a vague name lonesome blues man??), MGM supposedly
had some interest. In the 60's OLIBIN INC (Oliver Sabin) was licensing Musicraft material to
many different 99cent labels, then the revived Musicraft label appeared from the west coast (Discovery),
issued LP's then CD's, with another of the former Musicraft principals running the label.

Allegro, according to Billboard, was started by Paul Puner (another Musicraft exec)
If I have time in the next few days, I'll scan for any confirmation of the above in Billboard.

Best wishes, Thomas.

Denon supposedly owns Savoy and anything Savoy claims to own from VArsity which can extend to Crown, but I wasn't aware of
Majestic having gone there. Super Disc is listed in the MGM books. Continental was part of Remington (Don Gabor)..no idea what
became of that entire operation. Guild was reissued by Musicraft, but did they take over the label?

Speaking of odd labels, has anyone ever seen an HRS transcription? I have one! By a group led by Brick Fleagle.
