The SP15 is also very easy to use for re-centering discs, and 95% of all pressed discs (and even some lacquers) need centering. I use an old McCurdy turntable mat (rubber on one side, felt on the other) plus a 50s LP to raise everything just enough. Also, when necessary, a turntable weight liberated from a CBC studio.

After some minor repairs, I built a 1 1/2" thick plinth for it and mounted a longer (about 10 1/4" effective length) Jelco tonearm, purchased from Kurt Nauck. I'm using a Stanton 500 cartridge with a selection of 6 different styli, 5 of which are diamond elliptical profile. For a phono preamp I use a Hagerman Bugle Pro, which is a variable EQ model.
