[78-L] E-bay-Seller Confusion About Lacquers and Test Pressings

Many of these are hoping to attract unsuspecting buyers who are just as ignorant. Beware of those who describe 78s that are obviously shellac as being made of vinyl. Also those who use words like "shiny" to describe the condition (often the word is misspelled "shinny").

Another overused word to look out for is "Northern Soul." People are using this to attract what they hope are high roller bids - any ordinary Motown record is now being sold as a "Northern Soul collectible."
