There seems to be so many that longevity was the exception, not the rule.  I don't know if anyone's mentioned all of the rock and country stars who died young - Elvis, John Lennon, Big Bopper and his flight mates, Jim Reeves, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Bobby Darin.  And let's not forget Glenn Miller.
