[78-L] National Records

I had an LP of those Eckstine MGMs.I think the album maybe outside in the shed where I have a batch of 
them stored.They have to come in before the weather takes it's toll on them.Regarding Mr. Lennick and 
Varsity Records:the Frankie Trumbauer Varsity 78 I have is "Jimtown Blues" backed with "The Laziest Gal
in Town"."Jimtown Blues dates from 1936 as I recall as I have a Ben Pollack Brunswick 78 of it with solos
by Glenn Miller,trombone;Harry James,trumpet;Dave Matthews,tenor sax;Faz on clarinet and Freddie Sla-
ck on piano.If I remember correctly,it was recorded on 16 September 1936.I've had it since late October of 1978.I first heard of it by way of George T. Simon in his book "The Big Bands" from 1967.

I don't have any Nationals but another good MGM 78 is Eckstine's, I'm
