Don't know anything about Ruth Morgan, but I do know Sanders Recording
Studios. I cut my first records there sometime around 1960. I still have
the records - two 7" 45s - of me playing "Maple Leaf Rag" and Livery
Stable Blues" on the piano.
The 1103 6th Avenue address was a little shotgun style hole in the wall
business and the disc cutter could be seen just past the office thru the
front window, so the public could see the engineer at work. The small
recording booth was even further back and was pretty much bare except
for a piano and the mic. Possibly they had a bigger studio over on 48th
Street, I dunno.
Ah, memories of a misspent yoot.

The artist is Ruth Morgan. Song title is "Mad About Him Blues." Both a typewritten on the label. In the box opposite the word SPEED is handwritten 78. I've not heard it. The info I have is from a photocopy that he provided me. He says it's a blues backed by a band. I'm not sure whether it's single sided or double sided, as the photocopy is only of one side. ... I can't find anything on the Internet about Morgan and am curious to know if anyone on the list has any information.
