I'll have to check the White bio on Berigan as he was the first jazz trumpeter I seriously listened to save Red Nichols,Louis Armstrong,Bix and others like Roy Eldridge and Diz.The Teagarden stuff I'd like to
find as well as I'm also a trombonist who took up the instrument in 1965 as a 14 year old after hearing him
with Nichols on an old circa 1943 Brunswick 78 set of Nichols which included "Dinah" which contained a
Teagarden performance I never tired of(April,1929),"Tea for Two" and "I Want to Be Happy" from July of
1930 as well as his great solo on Nichols'"China Boy".I once met Norma Teagarden at a concert in Eugen-
e,Oregon in the late '70s and had once spoken to Charlie Teagarden back in the '70s regarding that 1943
Brunswick album I first heard in 1965."Dinah" had the most impact on my style as Berigan did on my tru-
mpet work next to Louis,Nichols and Bix.

This is an excellent book and worth seeking out. But Bozy was to Bunny
Berigan what Joe Showler was to Jack Teagarden; considered a world authority
on his subject. A conversation with Joe was an experience that I savored
quite a few times. I remember that his number one passion was finding a
print of the Vitaphone Ben Pollack short from 1929, which was finally found.
Does anyone on this list know whether he ever saw it?
