Fess Parker became quite the entrepreneur, establishing his own winery 
which produced credible products, and a huge resort hotel just a 
half-mile south of downtown Santa Barbara and its wharf with large, 
hungry pelicans. I believe the Inn used to be a Red Lion but is now a 
Doubletree. The place was so big, if you had a room at the far end, you 
had to drive to get to the lobby.
