Well, nobody said 'boo' about this, so I'll bring it up again. I just
got my hands on a US Columbia 78, made in the USA for the USA, pressed in 1964.

The actual label is Discos Columbia, which was Columbia's latin
division. They licensed the name to a company in Miami called,
appropriately, Miami Records.

Articles in Billboard as late as 1965 show that Miami Records was
still pressing 78 even then for the latino market in states:

http://books.google.com/books?id=UykEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA31&dq=%22miami+records%22+78&lr=&as_drrb_is=b&as_minm_is=0&as_miny_is=&as_maxm_is=0&as_maxy_is=&as_brr=0&as_pt=MAGAZINES&cd=1#v=onepage&q=%22miami%20records%22%2078&f=false

As to the record -- its Discos Columbia 9400 - Advertencia b/w Pa'
Todo el Ano by Trio Los Panchos. The label is purple and says "Discos
Columbia" under magic notes (though don't say magic notes). The label
copy says "Manufactured in the U.S. by Miami Records under license
from Columbia Records".

In reviewing sessions for Trio Los Panchos, these tracks were
recorded in 63 and 64.

So -- it sort of is a US Columbia 78, and it sort of isn't. But --
just as important, its a very late US 78 that blows the 1960 releases
by Buster Brown and Bobby Marchand out of the water from the date standpoint.
