Another one has Coolidge, when still Vice President, visiting his home  
town when a man in passing wagon calls out to him "Howdy, Cal".   "Howdy, Newt" 
replied Cal.  "Who was that?" asked someone in the VP's  party.  "Cousin of 
mine; haven't seen him in 20 years," replied Silent  Cal.
