Which further confirms my suspicions (see earlier post) that the "Elephant" 
label was
paid for by either the Republican party, or one (or more) of the supporters 
thereof!
Wasn't Coolidge a Republican candidate?

OTOH, I'm not too sure that there doesn't STILL exista strong ideological
connection between to-day's Republicans...and some/many of the ideas that
were promoted by the KKK...?!
