What many (most?) people don't realize is this...if it weren't for us "pack 
rats,"
museums and "antique dealers" could not exist! Objects go through three 
phases:
(1) New (or new enough to admit owning)
(2) Old and out-of-date
(3) "Valuable antique" (or "museum piece")

It is only us "pack rats" that hang onto items once they reach the second 
phase...?!
