[78-L] Record Stores

Herman Lubinski’s radio store in Newark also sold new and used records 
in the late 1930s. Cover designer Paul Bacon told me he and other 
members of the Newark Jazz Society used to shop there. Paul says he 
first became aware of Armstrong’s small-group OKeh recordings reissued 
on black-and-gold Vocalions. Lubinski was a noted early-radio expert. 
This was well before he started his Savoy label.
