The Music Box also has a small photo in the upper left of the two
drummers Shapiro and Wettling. The notes are also dated February 1940
after Ernie's name. Is it this way on the Gala?

Are you saying that the Gala cover has blue print and does not have the
lettering under the pianist's hand at the lower right corner? That
would mean the cover on Amazon would be a later Music Box printing.
Looking an an enlargement of my photo, the lettering says
Devries-Peterson in a lettering style that indicates the cover designer
was either high on LSD or attempting an early example of the captcha.
