There's possibly a good reason for that. The recordings that exist from
the first two shows, December 1 and 8, 1934 were commissioned by one of
the arrangers, Joe Lippman, from National Recording Studio, 2 West 46th
St. and only his arrangements were recorded. Two selections on the 1st
and 2 on the 8th are in the Hicks and O'Conner discography and two more
from the 8th are in my collection. This third disc was only recently
discovered and then purchased by me last year. The first two discs were
given to Mort Savada by the arranger himself many decades ago and have
been issued several times. I do not know where the disc I now have had
been, but I think that it was issued a couple of years ago before I got
it. These three 12-inch discs are among the oldest lacquer-coated discs
in existence.
