[78-L] Bixing from Revised American Dance Band Discography

Well for just one thing, strictly from memory......Paul Whiteman was 
extremely kind AND patient with Bix. Paying for rehabilitation,,,putting up 
with lengthy absences but keeping his chair open...and putting up with the 
fact that Bix drank to ruination, could not read and had to sit with his 
horn in his mouth but not actually playing on more than a few occasions..
He loved Bix (as do I) and although he was in a commercial straight jacket 
did give Bix spots where possible.. This is not what that article 
maintained. There were lots of other wrong statements but I don't have time 
right now to go back and look them up. I promise I will review it in a few 
days and give you my take with citations from the article on the whole 
thing.
