Never had a warped CD nor heard of a flattening method but this is what I would do. Since it's a plastic (Polycarbonate) it will soften with temperature. No way would I stick it in the oven like I do to my warped 78s. I would try your suggestion of putting weight on it but put it on a warm surface. For instance put a hot pan on your countertop first. THen move and put the CD on the warm spot with some weight.

Has anyone ever had success in flattening a warped CD? It's not warped in waves like some 33's, but just bowed a little in the middle keeping it from spinning. The computer can read the track list but won't play it. I was thinking of putting a lot of weight on it for a period of time, but wondered if this is a waste of time???
