In fact, the Beatles first "broke" as a sort of "rock'n'roll revival" band, 
covering
material like old Chuck Berry...! Thanks to the "Wall Of Sound" approach,
pop music had all but abandoned anything like "rock'n'roll" by late 
1962...and
it was starting to drift back into a new "doldrum!"
