All these titles were recorded before August 29 1943 when Germany dissolved 
the Danish government, which, until then, had succeeded in resisting many of 
the occupant's demands. Censorship, for instance, was administered by Danish 
police in the first war years and much less severe than after August 29 when 
it was taken over by the German administration .
At that date, also, Svend Asmussen was arrested and imprisoned, first in 
Denmark, later in Germany, accused of collaboration with British 
intelligence during his tours in Sweden. He was released after a few months 
and was back to perform and record in Copenhagen in late 1943.
