Are we talking strictly about jazz players? Freddy Martin certainly has a
distinctive and fine tone on tenor.

Art Rollini doesn't seem to be held in great esteem by many jazz-oids, but
I'm very fond of his sound and his solos in the Freeman-Russin mode. His
sweet playing pleases me very much, too, e.g. his solo on the Goodman
Victor of Good Night, My Love...also my #1 Ella Fitzgerald record...so good
even Julian might like it!
